Included
Optional

This option is ideal if you want to offset your carbon footprint without directly engaging in the design or operations of our projects.

Verified by Verra: Our projects adhere to Verra's highest global standards, ensuring credibility. We only apply their latest and most rigorous methodologies.

NBS options: We offer a range of projects within critical ecosystems worldwide, including rainforest preservation and restoration, agroforestry, improved forest management, etc.

High-integrity: Collaborating closely with local communities, we create social and economic opportunities such as education, healthcare, and jobs for forest-dependent populations. Additionally, we protect and restore forests to their original state, sustaining native and endangered species.

Transparency & reliability: To ensure confidence in your investment, we align with the latest environmental science and utilize advanced technology for transparent, reliable, and scalable tracking of carbon sequestration and co-benefits.

This option is ideal if you want significant influence over the creation or adaptation of a single project, without the need to commit to venture ownership.

Role of Forestbase: On your behalf, we originate, develop and manage a new project, potentially qualifying as insetting depending on your value chain. We can also customize one of our existing projects to suit your needs. You decide how involved you want to be.

Project flexibility: Together, we will determine the project activities to align with your sustainability strategy. A carbon credit generating activity is likely, but not a must. Our only non-negotiable is our high-integrity standard for both community and biodiversity impact.

Advanced options: We can implement very specific activities that go beyond the standard co-benefits and tie into your larger sustainability narrative, such as specific species reintroduction, critical habitat restoration, or immersive educational programs.

Financing structure: Milestone-based advanced payments are required to help bring your vision to life. These can be structured as investments for financial returns, long-term offtake agreements, or other bespoke arrangements. In addition, we can also own, acquire or lease project land, if you prefer.

This option is ideal if you’re looking for equity ownership and direct control over your own climate-focused venture, holding one or several NBS projects.

Role of Forestbase: We help you set up your venture after which we act as a flexible project service provider—offering full project management, partial involvement, or complete handover, based on your needs.

Ownership & control: You fully own and control your venture, which can include one or multiple projects, as well as land ownership. This setup allows you to build long-term business value.

Project flexibility: Choose from our existing portfolio and potentially tailor them to establish more alignment with your brand, values, or industry focus. Alternatively, we can onboard customizable projects built entirely from scratch, with the potential to qualify as insetting depending on your value chain.

Rights beyond carbon: If you choose land ownership, you can secure rights to future ecosystem services beyond carbon sequestration, such as biodiversity, water, or soil restoration.

What’s in a hectare?
More than just trees.

A hectare — 10,000 square meters, 2.47 acres, or 1.4 soccer fields — contains trees, lots of them. But it’s also an entire ecosystem of soil, water, weather, plants, and millions of critters that make the whole thing work. An average hectare in the Amazon contains:
7,228
species of animal (3,512 endangered)
2,250
species of plant (1,282 endangered)
625
tons of stored carbon
